Office Depot donated 600 backpacks to the After-School All-Stars today! Office Depot and the Office Depot Foundation have donated over 2 million backpacks through the National Backpack Program to kids across the USA. The backpacks – which contain essential school supplies – have been given to deserving children in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, Canada and even as far away as China. Today, the After-School All-Stars, Communities in Schools, Clark County School District, Nevada Youth Alliance, Sunrise Children’s Foundation, and City of Las Vegas all received backpacks. The 2,250 backpacks donated to all the non-profit organizations in the Las Vegas area will help children achieve greater success in the classroom by being well prepared for school.
The After-School All-Stars were represented by John Pucci, Jackie Locks, Sal Savini, Erika Aguilar, Principal Tim Adams (Rex Bell ES) and several ASAS kids!
NBC Channel 3 TV was on hand to film the event.
